Hands on Heritage

Year 3 had an amazing day at Hands on Heritage, Tunstall Forest.

They experienced how people in the past overcame the challenges of living and working together as a community.

Activities included:-

  • Firelighting
  • Whittling to make a butter knife
  • Pewter casting
  • Jewellery making
  • Spinning and weaving
  • Grining wheat to make flatbread
  • Sitting inside an Iron Age roundhouse
We received many compliments from the volunteers regarding the childrens' behaviour, knowledge and enthusiasm.
