Year 5's Visit to St Edmundsbury Cathedral

As part of their history topic on the Vikings, children from Year Five recently travelled to Bury St Sdmunds Cathedral.

Once there, we heard the story of King Edmund who was killed by the invading Vikings for refusing to give up his Christian faith, and so was made a saint.

We followed the trail of St. Edmund both inside and outside the cathedral, but the highlight of the day was meeting the Vikings! We tried on their heavy armour handled thier swords and then later were treated to a display of Viking fighting.  All in all, it was a terrific day out.
